Sherry has owned and operated her own tax and accounting business "Tax Help," since 1977. She has more than twenty-five years of experience in the accounting field, including six years in the banking industry working in the accounting and auditing areas in Alaska.

Sherry teaches tax and record keeping classes for the University of Alaska Small Business Development Center, the Internal Revenue Service, and the National and State Associations of Tax Consultants. In addition, she is a regular instructor/teacher for the military day care programs and the Alaska Family Child Care Society and Child Care Connection (a Muncipality of Anchorage program).

She is the past president of the National Association of Tax Consultants and the Alaska Association of Tax Consultants. She is currently the Education Coordinator for the Alaska Association. Sherry is a Forum Member of the local IRS Forum on Ethics and the Alaska Tax Practitioner Forum. Early in 1996, she was appointed as a Forum Member for the Ogden Service Center's Tax Practitioner Forum. She was one of five nationwide appointed to act as a liaison between tax practitioners and the Internal Revenue Service. In addition, while in this position, she was relied upon to communicate effectively with suggestions to improve communication and problem resolution.

In May 2001, Sherry received a Congressional appointment to the Taxpayers' Advocacy Panel. She is one of over 100 citizens representing taxpayers. The Advocacy Panel empowers individuals, small businesses, and other federal taxpayers by providing an open, responsive forum for identifying problems, prioritizing concerns, making recommendations, facilitating positive ongoing change, and improving service within the IRS. Randy Hamilton

 

Randy Hamilton obtained his business education at Snow College and his accounting education at the Marriott School of Management of Brigham Young University. He earned an associate degree in business, a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's accountancy degree in taxation. Randy moved his family to Anchorage in 1995 and took a job with one of the "big" four accounting firms, Deloitte & Touche, LLP where he worked in their accounting and tax practice for two years. He then joined a local firm owned by the former president of the Alaska Society of CPAs, Charles Bingham. After working with a local firm for two years, Randy formed his own tax practice and in January 2001 merged his firm with Tax Help, Inc. Randy and Sherry work to serve their clients with the thorough professionalism their education and experience demand.

Randy has served as an accounting or tax instructor at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, at Charter College and for the Internal Revenue Service while in Alaska. He enjoys watching the faces of his students when they grasp a new concept.

Randy sat for the CPA exam and passed it on the first round. He is currently licensed as a CPA in the state of Alaska. He also currently serves as the president of the Alaska Association of Tax Consultants which is an organization that promotes the education and responsible practice of accounting and taxation both within Alaska and around the nation.
